Use the Florida city guide for the project address
Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville are separate existing city guides. Select the location of the property and read the business’s published service-area information. The number of Florida places in this directory does not indicate a company’s office network or its ability to attend on a particular date.
When a profile looks relevant, ask about the precise location and task. Keep any travel, access and scheduling discussion with the proposed scope. A search result or a city label is useful for finding information; the business must confirm its own current offer.
Prepare a scope that a business can actually answer
“Replace a bathroom accessory” needs more detail if the request also includes moving a fixture or changing a connection. Identify the existing item, proposed replacement and whether the building or a utility system would be altered. These are scope questions, not a determination that a particular person can perform the work.
For assembly and mounting, share the product model, instructions and photographs of the proposed location. For repairs, show the visible issue and the finish you expect afterwards. Ask what preparation, materials, removal and follow-up the proposal includes so that an initial price is not mistaken for a complete work agreement.
Search DBPR by the identifier you have
Florida DBPR’s official portal provides searches by name, license number, city or county, and license type. Its records concern the professions and businesses regulated by DBPR. Use the identifier you actually have, then compare the returned identity with the business proposing the work.
A result found through a city search does not establish that the business offers every item on your list. Use the appropriate record for the work and ask the relevant local authority about the property’s permit requirements. Keep those checks separate from the provider’s availability and quoted scope.
Florida project questions
Can I search a Florida license record when I only know the business name?
DBPR offers a name search as well as number, city/county and license-type searches for the professions and businesses it regulates. Compare the identity carefully and ask the business for more precise license information when needed. A similar name alone is not a reliable match.
Does finding a Florida business by city establish that it can perform my entire repair list?
No. The city is a search input, not a project approval. Check the relevant business or professional record, describe each task and confirm the provider’s own offer. Property-specific permit questions still need the appropriate local authority.
