Filter the address results by the work you are investigating
Hollywood’s record-search guide describes address and record-number searches, with filters for Building/Permitting, Engineering/Utilities and Licenses. It also describes record-type and start-date search options. City resource.
Use those distinctions when identifying an existing record. An address match alone does not show that a record covers your proposed repair. Keep the type and number visible when discussing the project, particularly where the site has several unrelated applications or utility matters.
Check that the record and proposal describe the same work
Compare the property and unit details, project description and record number with the work now proposed. Note any mismatch precisely rather than assuming that a similar title establishes relevance. If you are uncertain, give staff the record reference and the current scope and ask how they relate.
Share the relevant reference with the person preparing a proposal, together with current-condition information. Keep a new change distinct from the earlier record’s description. This guide explains the search resource; it has not searched an individual property or established any record’s status, approval or inspection outcome.
Project questions
Why might a Hollywood address search return records unrelated to my repair?
The city guide shows several record categories that can be filtered at an address. Check the type and description as well as the location before deciding a result is relevant.
What should I share when asking about a Hollywood record mismatch?
Provide the exact address/unit, record number and type, the apparent mismatch and the proposed work. Ask staff about relevance and status rather than interpreting a search result as permission.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
