Separate a new proposal from an existing permit
Hemet’s Building and Safety notice says Tyler EPL launched August 11, 2026 for new applications. It says existing permits continue in TrakiT until migrated, with further migration information to follow. Use the live city resource to clarify where a particular existing project is currently managed.
Before searching, collect the prior permit reference, application date and property address. State whether you want to locate an earlier record, follow up on existing work or describe a genuinely new proposal. That distinction helps keep an old project from being mistaken for a new submission.
Resolve a missing record before duplicating an application
If a familiar permit is missing from the view you are using, preserve the search details and ask Building to locate that specific reference. Include an earlier issued document if you have one. An empty lookup during a system transition is not a complete history of the property.
Keep the staff direction and the current document set with the owner’s repair notes. Tell the provider which questions remain unresolved before planning a finishing visit around an assumed status. This guide has not searched either portal or confirmed the migration of any permit.
Which Hemet system should I use for a new application?
The city’s August 2026 notice directs new applications to Tyler EPL. Follow the live Building and Safety link and current instructions for the proposed scope.
Does an older permit missing from Tyler mean there is no permit?
No. The city notice distinguishes existing permits managed in TrakiT until migration. Ask Building where the particular reference is currently held instead of interpreting a missing result as a complete record finding.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
