Texas handyman and home repair directory

Find the Texas city and the kind of work you need, then compare the business’s own service information. This directory brings those routes together; an entry here does not establish statewide coverage or an available appointment.

Where in Texas is the project?

The current directory has 390 city routes in this state. Use the city links below to open existing local directory pages.

These are navigation examples from the existing geography. A city URL or an old provider association is not proof of an available or independently verified contractor.
THE NEXT STEP

Start with a clear project in Texas.

Browse service guides, then check whether the business serves your exact address.

Choose the Texas city before comparing providers

Choose the project address first. The existing guides for Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio are separate starting points, not branches of a single repair business. Open the relevant city, read the linked company profile and compare its stated territory with the address where the work will happen.

A company described as serving a metro area may need more location detail before answering a request. Include the municipality and ZIP code when asking about travel, access and scheduling; obtain that answer from the business rather than from the number of cities in this directory.

Turn the repair list into comparable written bids

“Assemble a storage cabinet” and “assemble, position and attach it to the building” are different requests. Likewise, a drywall patch can leave decisions about sanding, texture and painting unresolved. List those parts separately, with the product model or photos, so a price can be tied to an agreed result.

The Texas Attorney General recommends detailed written bids and a written agreement recording the promised work. When comparing proposals, check that material choices, removal, finishing and any return visit cover the same scope. A lower total is hard to assess when one proposal leaves out part of the job.

Match the business, project and Texas hiring resource

Keep the business’s exact name with the proposal and the source you used to find it. The Texas Attorney General’s home improvement resource explains contractor research and directs consumers to the appropriate licensing agency for work that requires a licensed professional. A broad “handyman” description does not complete that check.

Use the project guide to prepare the work list, the city guide to locate published business information, and the official hiring resource to plan further checks. Confirm scope, qualifications for that work and current address coverage directly before agreeing to a visit.

Texas project questions

Does a Texas listing mean the business travels between Austin, Dallas and Houston?

No. A state directory entry or a mention of several cities is not a promise to travel between them. Read the profile’s published service-area details and ask the business about the specific project address, travel terms and available dates.

How can I compare two Texas repair bids that include different materials?

Ask each business to identify the materials, preparation, installation and finishing it has included. Keep those choices alongside the written total and any exclusions. The Texas Attorney General’s guidance supports detailed written bids; comparable descriptions make the difference between the proposals easier to understand.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. An area-wide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
