Identify the existing pool and the intended future use
Vista’s in-ground pool/spa demolition handout, dated July 2014, distinguishes intended building over the former location. Ask the City about the current proposal; this guide imports none of the handout’s technical instructions.
Identify the existing pool using plans or earlier-work references already held. Note the equipment or related features mentioned in those records, and distinguish what is proposed for removal from what might remain. Explain the intended future use even if the final landscape appearance has not been selected.
Keep demolition, connected equipment and surface finish separately questioned
Keep questions about the pool structure, connected equipment and desired ground-surface finish individually visible. An attractive finished-area description can leave the actual removal boundary unclear. Ask the City and appropriate specialists what current information and assessment address the proposal as a whole.
Retain their responses with the existing records and future-use description before treating a landscape agreement as the complete project. If contemplated building or another future use changes, update that description explicitly. No draining, demolition, equipment-isolation, fill or compaction method is provided here.
Why identify the future use of the former pool area in a Vista enquiry?
The handout distinguishes contemplated building over the former location. Describe the actual intended use and ask the City for current project-specific guidance.
Can a landscape-finish description stand in for the whole pool-removal proposal?
No. Identify the existing pool and equipment references, removal and retention questions, and intended finished surface separately. Ask which assessment addresses the full proposal.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
