Scope of faucet repair & installation
Faucet work should identify the fixture, sink or tub arrangement, connections, and whether the problem is leakage, operation, or a planned replacement. Provide model information and access photographs. Ask the provider to assess repair or replacement options and specify compatible parts, removal, installation, connection checks, and any work outside the fixture itself.
Locate the faucet problem and identify the fixture
A faucet service request should identify the room, model if known, mounting arrangement and observed problem. Dripping from the spout, leakage beneath the fixture and poor operation are different symptoms. Share photographs of the faucet and accessible connections without dismantling it. The provider should diagnose the source before proposing a replacement or ordering parts.
For a new faucet, compare the selected product with the sink or countertop openings and available space. Pull-out hoses, separate handles, filters and other accessories may change the installation scope. Ask whether existing shutoffs and supply connections are suitable and who handles repairs or changes if they are not.
Compare repair parts with complete replacement
Ask about parts availability, the repair warranty and any remaining limitation of the existing fixture. A replacement proposal should list removal, new connections, product fitting and the checks performed afterward. Clarify disposal and protection of the surrounding surface. Replacing the sink or modifying a countertop is not automatically part of a faucet job. If a fixture is concealed in a wall or forms part of a more complex system, ask which access and finish repairs may be required rather than treating it as a simple exposed-faucet swap.

- Sink Installation & Repair: Sink installation changes the basin and may involve different support or cutout work.
- Toilet Repair & Installation: Toilet fixture service is a separate plumbing task.
Project questions
What information helps assess a leaking or difficult-to-operate faucet?
Provide the model if known and photographs of the fixture and connections. Describe the symptoms so the provider can distinguish a possible repair from a planned replacement.
What should a faucet-installation proposal include?
Ask about compatible parts, removal, access, fitting and connection checks. Repairs to the sink, tub or surrounding surfaces should be identified separately from the faucet work itself.
