Describe cover, location and utilities as separate parts
The City’s May 2026 patio-cover guide calls for a dimensioned site plan showing existing and proposed structures, with electrical or gas layouts where applicable. Use those categories to organize the enquiry: the cover itself, its location and any additional feature should each be easy to identify.
Photograph the connection area and the surrounding site. Mark the intended outline and clearly distinguish existing construction from the new proposal. If lighting, a fan or another utility feature is desired, name it explicitly rather than allow it to hide inside a general “complete patio” description.
Ask which drawing route applies to the proposed cover
The guide distinguishes City-standard construction plans from engineered plans and describes separate review and inspection stages. Ask Building staff which route fits the actual design; a drawing found online does not show that it fits the proposed cover or existing building.
Use one dated scope and plan version for City and professional enquiries. If the size, location, connection or added utility feature changes, identify that revision before accepting a price. Ask who will coordinate documents and keep relevant work accessible for required review, without relying on a general assembly allowance.
Which extra patio features belong in the Menifee inquiry?
Name any intended electrical or gas feature separately. The guide includes applicable layouts for these additions, so show where they would go and ask Building staff how to describe the full proposal.
Can I choose a City-standard patio drawing without checking the proposed design?
The guide identifies standard and engineered plan routes. Ask Building staff or the appropriate designer which applies to the specific cover, site and connection before choosing a drawing or structural details.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
