Check the kit’s starting condition
Handyman General’s official site identifies Los Angeles and Beverly Hills and groups assembly with home repair and maintenance. Its description distinguishes defined services from uncertain or diagnostic work; that does not establish a repair or modification offer for every furniture kit. Official source.
For an unopened kit, identify the model and instructions. For a partly assembled item, note the last completed step, any parts removed and anything you believe is missing. Preserve that uncertainty if you have not checked it against the manufacturer’s parts list.
Separate assembly from repair and modifications
Ask whether the request can be scoped as assembly or needs a separate assessment. A damaged panel, substituted fastener or missing fitting is a different issue from simply having several steps left. Do not assume that sourcing parts or changing the design is included.
Explain where the finished item should go and any fit decision still pending. Keep manufacturer replacement parts and proposed alterations as separate questions. This allows you to decide whether to resolve a kit problem first or seek acceptance of the work in its present state.
What if my furniture kit is partly assembled already?
Describe what has been completed, what remains and any removed, missing or damaged parts. Keep the instructions available and ask whether the current condition needs assessment before assembly can be agreed.
Does assembly include repairing damaged panels or modifying the product?
Do not assume so. Ask about those tasks separately and clarify any need for manufacturer replacement parts. A furniture-assembly category does not establish acceptance of repairs or custom alterations.
