Locate the issue before choosing who to ask
My Hoover Connect is the city’s online/mobile route for reporting an issue or asking a question. It can help you direct an uncertain location question to City Hall. The resource itself does not establish ownership or who must repair a particular feature.
Show the feature relative to the driveway, curb, walkway and house. Add a wider location photograph and describe what you observed without assigning fault. If the uncertainty concerns which authority or owner to approach, make that question explicit before asking a provider to alter the feature.
Keep a city report distinct from the repair authorization
Keep any report reference and city direction with the property notes. Separately identify the work the owner can authorize and the scope the provider is being asked to assess. A report about an issue does not become a contractor work order simply because it has a reference number.
The city says My Hoover Connect is monitored by non-emergency personnel during normal business hours. Use it with that limitation in mind. If staff direct you to another responsible party, update the repair request so the provider sees the resolved location and authorization question.
Does a My Hoover Connect report authorize a handyman to repair the feature?
No. A city report records an inquiry; it does not establish private authorization or a provider’s scope. Resolve the responsible-party question and obtain the appropriate authorization for the actual work.
Can I rely on My Hoover Connect for an emergency response?
The city identifies it as a non-emergency route monitored during normal business hours. Use the appropriate emergency service for immediate danger instead of depending on a portal report.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
