Distinguish an unreceived report from a repair finding
Meridian’s Backflow resource explains that its customer portal reflects test reports received by the city. If testing is complete but the status remains incomplete, it directs the customer to contact the tester about submitting the report. A separate status identifies repairs required. City resource.
Start with the date of the actual test and the tester’s name. Locate any copy of the report already supplied to you, and note which property or assembly reference appears on it. Ask whether that same report was submitted to the city; a remembered appointment alone cannot answer that question.
Trace the test report to the right record
If the tester confirms submission, ask the city which record or reference it needs to resolve the status. Keep the answer with the report so another person following up can distinguish a paperwork gap from an actual test finding.
Where a repair finding exists, request an explanation of that finding and the proposed next step from the appropriate tester or assessor. Have any work proposal identify the finding it addresses. Do not use a broad portal label as a substitute for that explanation or as evidence that a general repair listing covers the task.
Project questions
Why might Meridian’s portal still show incomplete after a test?
Meridian’s page directs a customer whose test is complete but status remains incomplete to contact the tester about submitting the report. Ask the city to resolve the actual record if submission is confirmed.
What should I ask before treating a Meridian backflow status as a repair scope?
Establish whether the outstanding issue is a report that has not reached the record or a documented test finding. Ask the tester or city to explain that distinction before a work proposal assumes repairs are needed.

For a rented home, confirm who can authorize alterations. In a shared building, ask about access and work rules. A citywide construction period does not establish the age, condition or safety requirements of an individual home; check the property records and the specific project.
